Kreator Seller Terms
In short. Kaayko sells your pieces and lessons and takes the payment. You keep 85% of the price; Kaayko keeps 15% and pays the card fees and its own discount codes. You ship your own pieces within 5 business days with tracking, or teach your own lessons. You are paid monthly through Stripe for sales at least 37 days past shipping or the lesson. Every buyer is asked to rate you.
1. Who sells
Kaayko is the seller of record. The buyer pays Kaayko, receives Kaayko's receipt and is covered by Kaayko's policies. You supply the piece or teach the lesson. Kaayko collects and files sales tax.
2. Who can sell
You must be 18 or over and based in the United States, for now. Every application, every listing and every change a shopper would see is reviewed by a person before it goes live. A shop run by Kaayko's own team is labelled as Kaayko's on every listing, never as independent.
3. What Kaayko keeps
- 15% of the price of each piece or seat sold. You earn the other 85%.
- Kaayko pays the card processing fees.
- Kaayko's own discount codes and patron prices are for Kaayko's own pieces; they do not discount yours. When Kaayko runs a promotion on your shop, Kaayko pays for it and you still earn 85% of the full price.
- A promotion you ask Kaayko to run on your own shop, and agree to fund, comes off your price: you earn 85% of what the buyer paid.
- No listing fees, no monthly fees. A listing is priced at $5 or more: below that, card and payout fees cost more than the sale earns.
4. How and when you are paid
- You are paid through Stripe Connect. You set up your own Stripe Express account from your seller dashboard; Stripe verifies your identity and holds your bank details. Kaayko never sees them.
- A sale becomes payable 37 days after the piece ships (the day you add tracking) or 37 days after the lesson's start. The wait covers the store's 30-day returns.
- On the 1st of each month Kaayko prepares a statement of everything payable by then, checks it, and transfers it to your Stripe account, usually within a few days. A sale that becomes payable mid-month waits for the next statement. A statement under $25 waits for the next month too; when you close your shop you are paid whatever you are owed. Stripe pays it to your bank on your account's schedule.
- A sale is held back from a statement while a chargeback is open. While a buyer's report (below) is being looked into, your payouts are paused. Both are released when the matter is closed.
- Your dashboard shows every sale, what you earn on it, and when it becomes payable.
5. Shipping your pieces
- You ship your own orders, inside the United States, within 5 business days of the order, and add the carrier and tracking number in your dashboard. The buyer is emailed the tracking.
- Your dashboard shows the buyer's name and address only while the piece is waiting to ship. Use them only to ship that order.
- Kaayko reminds you the day before a piece is due (the date is the end of the day, Pacific time). If a piece has not shipped by its date, Kaayko may contact the buyer and cancel the order with a full refund; a cancelled order earns nothing.
6. Lessons
- You teach every session yourself. Anyone assisting is named in the listing.
- The meeting point or video link you give is sent only to people who book. If you change it, Kaayko emails everyone already booked once the change is approved.
- If you cancel a session, everyone booked is refunded in full, automatically. A buyer who cancels 48 hours or more before the start is refunded in full; later, no refund. These refunds earn nothing.
- Lessons involving water, heights, driving or boating people, food, alcohol or strenuous exercise need liability insurance. Kaayko asks for the certificate before your first such lesson goes live.
- Lessons are teaching. Do not offer or describe one as therapy or counselling, or as medical, legal or financial advice, and do not claim to diagnose or treat anything: point anyone who needs that to a professional. Every lesson page tells buyers this, with the 988 crisis line.
- Do not record a session, video or audio, unless everyone in it agrees at the start.
- Online lessons are for adults (18+), for now. In person, under-18s may come only when the listing says so, with a parent or guardian there for the whole session, and you have agreed to a background check if Kaayko asks.
7. Returns and refunds
Your pieces follow the store's Returns policy: 30 days from delivery. You fund the returns of your pieces: a refunded piece earns nothing, and part of a refund reduces what you earn by the same share. If a refund comes after you have been paid for that sale, it is taken from your next statement.
8. Chargebacks
While a buyer's card dispute is open, that order's earnings are held. If the dispute is lost and it was about your piece or lesson (it never arrived, it was not as described, it was damaged), you earn nothing on it, and anything already paid is taken from your next statement. If it was about the payment itself, such as a stolen card, Kaayko bears it.
9. Ratings
- Kaayko asks every buyer, the same way, how it went: about an hour and a half after a lesson ends, or ten days after you ship. One reminder, then nothing.
- The first question is whether it happened as booked. A buyer who missed their own lesson counts against no one. Then an overall score, a few specifics (as described, clear teaching, organised, worth the price, quality) and whether they would book or buy again.
- You and shoppers see averages once 5 different buyers have rated (from at least 2 sessions, for lessons), and they then move only every few ratings, so no single buyer can be picked out. Individual answers and notes stay with Kaayko. Every rating counts; none is removed for being negative.
- Never offer anything in return for a rating, ask for a particular score, or ask a buyer to change or remove one. Do not rate yourself, or ask friends or family to. A buyer who knows you personally says so, and is left out of your averages.
- A report that you did not turn up, that a piece never arrived, or that a buyer did not feel safe is looked into by a person within a day. Your payouts are paused while it is; after a safety report, new bookings of your lessons are paused too until it is resolved, and Kaayko emails you that it has paused them. A report the buyer takes back about a no-show or safety still waits for a person to close it. Kaayko tells you the reason for any action it takes.
10. Closing your shop, and suspension
You can close your shop from your dashboard once every order has been shipped or taught (or cancelled); what you have earned is still paid, so set up payouts first. Kaayko may suspend a shop that breaks these terms, and will email you why. While a shop is suspended, Kaayko settles its open orders with the buyers and still pays you for anything already shipped or taught.
11. Changes
Kaayko emails every Kreator at least 30 days before these terms change. The version you agreed to is recorded on your account.
