Kaayko Scouts
Add a spot you paddle
A lake, a river, a beach or a launch point: photos, a pin where you put in, and a note. About two minutes, ideally at the water.
Not a safety check. A spot on Paddling Out, or a report about it, does not mean it is safe or allowed to paddle there. Check the conditions and the local rules before you go.
What the score can’t see
The Paddle Score is worked out from weather data. It can’t tell whether you may launch there, where the steps down to the water are, whether a dam upstream lets water out, or what lives in the water. People who paddle there can.
Seen a crocodile, a dam release or a no-boating sign at a spot already on the map? Use Report something on that spot’s page.
What happens next
A person at Kaayko checks every spot before it goes on the map. Its page then reads Added by and the name you chose, or Added by a paddler if you gave none. Give an email and you get a Scout code to follow your spots at kaay.link/m.
What we look for
- A public put-inSomewhere anyone may launch, not a private dock.
- Your own photosOf the water and the launch.
- The pin on the launchWhere you put in, not the middle of the water.
- Not on the map yetAlready there? Use Suggest an edit on its page.
- A note that helpsParking, fees, permission, what the water does after rain.
A thank-you
Each month we pick up to ten new spots by hand. To be considered, tick Put this spot up for the monthly picks when you add one and give your email; you must be 18 or older. The people picked choose one piece from the Kaayko store under $25, free. Pieces ship to US addresses only for now; elsewhere the thank-you is your name on the spot.
The first picks are made at the end of November 2026.
