Know before you paddle
Everything here was made by one person. That is the constraint the whole site is built around: small, honest, and specific rather than broad and vague. There is no team, no funding round, and no roadmap deck — just three products that work, documented including where they don’t.
Live paddle-condition scores for 17 hand-picked lakes, rivers and reservoirs. Wind speed and gusts, air and water temperature, UV index, cloud cover, precipitation and visibility fold into a single Paddle Score from 1 (Danger) to 5 (Excellent), then fixed safety rules trim it further — wind above 25 mph costs two full points, and water below 5°C is penalised hard no matter how good the day looks.
The model behind it was trained on roughly 1.4 million hourly weather observations across 164 water bodies in the United States and India. Every spot is added by hand, not scraped from a database. The score is a decision aid, not clearance to go out: it cannot see your skill, your equipment, currents, or the hazards at your launch site. An open-source, local-first AI workstation for Apple Silicon. It runs entirely on your own machine — no cloud, no API keys, no subscription, and nothing uploaded. Every render in the gallery was produced on-device. Where a benchmark came in under the threshold written down before the run, that result is published too, next to the methodology. A small run of printed shirts and totes, opened with an invite code. Vote counts decide which designs get printed next. It is invite-only because the run is genuinely small, not because it is exclusive — a human sends every invite.
A forecast that hides its uncertainty is worse than no forecast, and a benchmark that only reports wins is marketing.
